The weather has not been so bad in New York City that I need an air conditioner for the whole day. The weather is still chilly, but when I am cooking for the whole week on the weekends, it gets pretty bad inside the apartment. I used the air con in the kitchen after I had finished cooking and it worked well, it cooled the apartment down relatively fast. Setting this up is quite easy, with the exhaust exit extending far enough that I was able to place it in the middle of the kitchen. It comes with everything needed to start cooling the room, 4 hours after unboxing because it needs to stand upright for 4 hours before assembly. Placing this in the middle of the kitchen did block that side of the kitchen but I had finished all the cleaning so it was fine. I ran it for about 30 minutes and it started getting quite cold; it is an open kitchen with the dining room and living room attached with the hallway leading to the main bedroom, and while this is not a large apartment, this is the largest space in the apartment. The remote control came in handy, because I was sitting in the living room portion of the house. There are only two windows for this whole area so placing this in the middle of the kitchen is the closest point to the midpoint of the room. I like its size, its design, it is small and compact but powerful enough. This unit is strong enough to cool down the largest room of the house in spring quickly, though I will know for sure if it can handle the real heat when summer arrives, while hopefully keeping my electricity bill down.
